Most ATM machines in Vietnam will only let you take out one million Dong per transaction, that's only $50/£30 a time. Each withdrawal will cost you a fee of 20,000 - 40,000 Dong ($1-2), as well as the charges levied by your bank in your home country, so taking money out in Vietnam can get expensive, unless....
BIDV bank is the only ATM we found in Vietnam that let us take out more than one million Dong. We were able to withdraw up to four million at a time. What's even better is that BIDV don't charge you for making withdrawals, so the only fees you have to pay are those from your bank in your own country.
BIDV ATMs are widely available in every town and are easy to spot with their white signs with BIDV written in blue.
