Alpaca Steak and Volcanic Rock

Adding to my list of weird and wonderful foods I have sampled during my time in Peru, I recently went out to a very fancy restaurant and tried alpaca steak. The restaurant, Zig Zag, has a reputation for having the best steaks in town and it didnt disappoint. The alpaca came served on a sizzling slab of volcanic rock, it was thick and juicey and delicious, like beef steak but softer and the taste was more delicate. The meal was expensive by Peru standards but still only came to about £10. Definitely beats the guinea pig I had in Cuzco!
