Coimata

We were in a shop looking at souvenirs and chatting to the girl serving and she asked whether we'd been to Coimata. We'd never heard of it but we decided to go anyway.

We got a bus to the market, then had absolutely no idea what bus we had to get or where we could get it from. Asking Bolivians is pointless because if they don't know the correct answer they'll just tell you any old crap and send you on a wild goose chase. Eventually though we found the right bus.

I mentioned that in Peru the local buses are ex mini vans converted into buses... well here the buses are pick up trucks! Couple of seats in the cabin then a flat bed covered partially by a sheet of plastic! Travelling in style eh? - And still it beats the number 37!!!

So we got to Coimata; it's is a small place about half an hour away from Tarija, in the countryside. Its very pretty. We spent the afternoon there by some waterfalls by the river. We jumped in and swam, the water was freezing. Was really chilled afternoon, laying on the rocks reading and working on my tan (which has greatly suffered in the high altitude of Bolivia!)
