Sucre has the worlds biggest collection of dinosaur footprints. Went to see them. It was crap.
We had to get on the most cringeworthy gringo bus, a lorry with some benches in it and a plastic dinosaur head stuck of the front, and it took us half an hour up the mountain to 'Parque Cretacico' - the lamest "museum" ever.
We were given a tour by an excellently friendly guide called Juan Carlos, unfortunately his friendliness didn't compensate for the ruubbishness of the tour. We saw replica dinosaur skeletons, replica footprints and rocks claiming to be bones. The actual footprints are on a wall, you see them from about 500m away and they're pretty small.
The best part of the museum was the dinosaur models dotted about the place, they had the most ridiculous expressions! We amused our self greatly by renaming them, we had the Gormasaurus, the Gayasaurus, the Tortugasaurus, the Floatsaurus... it was all very silly really.
On our way back into town some tourists shouted at us "don't go its shit!" - but it was too late. We had fun though.
Continuing with the silliness, when we got back into town we went to the town hall, I'd heard that you could maybe go inside and get up on the roof. I asked the guard if we were allowed and he said no and didn't even look at me, but then he turned, winked at me and nodded. A second guard inside did pretty much the same thing. Odd. So we went up, got right up to the cupula and even grabbed on to the giant flag that nearly lifted me off the floor. The view was excellent, panoramic view of Sucre.
Then we had lunch at the market, had a little wander and went for another jewellery making lesson. Made a necklace.
After tea we went out and met up with Christan the German lad I sat next to on the bus from Copacabana. Also saw Ferran, a Spanish guy that had been in Samaipata the same time as me. All sat together and got pretty pissed.
